October 12, 2017 – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded Integral a task order contract to provide the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) mission support services associated with the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) Biometric Domain. The contract has a one-year base and four one-year option periods of performance. As with Integral’s other three contracts for OBIM, each ongoing, this requirement was awarded under the company’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) Small Business prime contract.
As defined by its governing entity, NIEM is a common vocabulary that enables efficient information exchange across diverse public and private organizations. As part of OBIM’s efforts to improve biometric sharing in support of national security and public safety, the NIEM Biometric Domain will provide the data standards, architecture, and data exchange packages necessary for interoperable exchange of data with OBIM and other systems in a common service-oriented architecture.
Working primarily at the company’s headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, Integral’s team of operations research analysts will develop plans, processes, procedures, and mapping and provide operational support, training, collaboration support, tier support, external data standardization, data requirements, and compliance for the NIEM Biometric Domain.
“We are pleased that OBIM has again selected Integral to support its efforts as the lead entity for biometric identity management services within DHS,” said Integral President and Chief Executive Officer Renu Johri. “Our team is singularly focused on the success of OBIM’s mission as the data steward of the NIEM Biometric Domain.”
