July 19, 2016 – The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has awarded Integral a task order contract to provide program management office (PMO) support for the Global Electromagnetic Spectrum Information System (GEMSIS). Part of the Defense Spectrum Organization within DISA, GEMSIS will transform spectrum operations and management from a preplanned and static frequency-assignment system into a responsive and agile capability, federating future capabilities and services through a net-centric Integrated Spectrum Desktop to request, assign, allocate, and de-conflict portions of the electromagnetic spectrum.
For this effort, Integral teamed with experienced GEMSIS providers Enterprise Information Services (EIS) and Booz Allen Hamilton. Complementing Integral’s eight years of experience on similarly complex U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs and its successful management of large projects supporting the warfighter, EIS and Booz Allen Hamilton, as members of the current GEMSIS contractor team, bring a current understanding of the GEMSIS mission and requirements.
The Integral project team includes seven key personnel―each with more than a decade of experience and a minimum Secret security clearance―and 13 support staff members who will provide comprehensive program management, analytical support, and administrative services to the GEMSIS PMO. The work, which will be performed at the Joint Spectrum Center in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, will support the acquisition and management of GEMSIS Program capabilities in accordance with the current version of DoD Instruction 5000.02, Operation of the Defense Acquisition System.
In comments accompanying the award announcement, Integral President and Chief Executive Officer Renu Johri said, “As a trusted partner in serving DoD programs since 2008, we look forward to providing exceptional PMO support to help enhance the warfighter’s ability to manage the electromagnetic battlespace in achieving information superiority.”
The GEMSIS PMO Support Services contract begins on August 19 and has a one-year base period and two one-year option periods.
